The Celibacy of Jesus (Part III)

I was always skeptical about the claims of Mary Magdalene possibly being a disciple of Jesus’ or, much more blasphemous, the wife and lover of Jesus! My old Jesus was not allowed to love a woman or, God forbid, make babies! Besides, I thought, there is NO SUCH EVIDENCE for such a thing except maybe by people with overblown imaginations or a desire to stir up trouble. But then…I found out that, in fact, there was historical evidence of another viewpoint. Join us in this week’s search for a more authentic understanding of the real Jesus…

Am I My Brother’s Keeper?

In Search of Simplicity|http://insearchofsimplicity.com/tag/stories-to-make-you-cry/

I’ve been thinking a lot about death lately, and for good reason. Death is all around me, both in my work and in my personal life (and my thoughts!). This past January, a national revolution took place in literal Egypt. It was spearheaded and organized via a few young people and a Facebook account. Imagine a corrupt ruler overthrown and a whole country changed in a couple of weeks, all from information sharing on the Internet! Could this be a significant declaration in our day, announcing the move of the hand of God to further free us from our bonds of slavery? Read more…

Anatomy of Desire

Food and sex. Now that I got your attention…I spend a lot of time thinking what drives people, especially since I’ve personally been driven by cycles of addiction at times in my life. I spend a lot of time thinking about why people want to consume so deeply, when in the end, they end up being the one consumed…
